After Your Procedure
Your post-operative instructions will advise you to sleep with your head elevated for the first few nights after surgery. Medication can be provided if necessary to help you to sleep during these nights. The morning after surgery, you will remove the bandage and shower with a special shampoo to gently clean the transplanted area. You don't need to worry that the follicular units will become dislodged during your showering if you follow the specific instructions provided. No bandage is applied after this shower.
Some patients experience swelling in the forehead area that settles around the bridge of the nose over the days following the transplant procedure. This swelling typically resolves within the first week after transplantation.
As with any procedure, it is very important to follow post-operative instructions carefully. The transplant will become virtually undetectable after the first week. In areas where you feel the newly transplanted grafts are still visible, a slightly modified hairstyle can help to conceal the area until they heal completely.
Dr. Barr will call you the day following your procedure to answer any questions you may have and approximately two weeks following your procedure, you will return to the office for you follow up appointment. |
